environmental policy statement 2024

Our environmental policy statement is the communication of our policy internally within our organisation and externally to our stakeholders. This is only the first step on our journey towards sustainability. Transdev Directors and Senior Management are committed to leading the public transport industry in minimising the impact of its activities on the environment.

We are committed to minimising the environmental impact of our operations. In particular we will achieve this through our commitment to:

  1. Implement a realistic framework of targets for all UK operations to work towards through the effective use of an environmental management system to reduce Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions generated by our activities and achieve zero emissions by 2050.
  2. Reduce pollution at all times that could cause harm to the environment.
  3. Minimise waste by evaluating operations, ensuring they are as efficient as possible and actively promote recycling both internally and with our suppliers.
  4. Minimise carbon emissions through the selection and use of its fleet and the source of its power requirement.
  5. Encourage all driving staff to behave with proper attention to saving fuel and with appropriate attention to the safety of the public.
  6. Engender an attitude of working with attention given to saving our natural resources (e.g. lighting, heating, printing and photocopying), championing new technologies or alternative energy sources which are scalable and appropriate to our business model and activities.
  7. Meet or exceed all the environmental legislation that relates to the Company.
  8. Work towards continual improvement in all areas of our activities that interact with the environment.
  9. Liaise with the Carbon Trust, Environment Agency and other credible Non-Governmental Organisations (NGOs) to assist and control our impact on the environment.
  10. Publicise our objectives, targets and results to internal and external stakeholders.
