Accelerating our commitment to zero emission

Transdev is accelerating its commitment to zero emissions with the introduction of 15 new Mercedes-Benz Citaro Hybrid buses to its FLYER network. They will connect Leeds, Bradford, and Harrogate to Leeds Bradford Airport.

These buses are among Europe’s most energy-efficient, combining electric power and biodiesel to minimize emissions through a hybrid design. The combination of electric and biodiesel power is estimated to save up to 8.5% in fuel consumption compared to a conventional bus with a Euro VI diesel engine. Additionally, each bus saves around £3,000 annually in operating costs, thanks to low-emission bus grants worth up to 6p per kilometre. They will revolutionize the travel experience. With advanced cyclist and pedestrian detection systems, these buses will also make roads safer for everyone.

Considering the FLYER network’s role in serving Leeds Bradford Airport, each bus will feature ample luggage space. Our customers will love traveling on these impressive new buses. They offer the most energy-efficient, eco-friendly way to reach the regional airport. Additionally, they help offset carbon emissions associated with air travel.

Stay tuned for more details about these stunning new hybrid buses as we move closer to launching them across the FLYER network.
